Need help identifying parts from my 95 Honda Foreman 400 4x4

I have a 95 Honda Foreman 400 4x4 that I bought cheap. After riding it a bit, it got stuck in reverse. I took off the front cover and three pieces fell out, I'm not a mechanic but like to do some work myself. Can anyone help out?

You're very likely to be dealing with damaged gears or shift forks but I couldn't precisely tell.
If that is the problem, the repair is usually beyond what most non-mechanics can do without specialized tools and knowledge of ATV transmissions.
It's a pretty intricate job to get everything back together correctly and ensure the shifting mechanism works as it should.
I would strongly suggest taking your Foreman to a qualified mechanic.

Thanks, that's really helpful, I had a feeling it might be over my head, I'll look into getting it checked out professionally, better that than making it worse trying to guess

Ever thought maybe like some internal parts popped out when you removed the cover? Probably from the reverse gear or shift mechanism.

Well it happened to me once. It was the shift drum and a spring that came loose. If you can post a pic of those parts, someone here might be able to help better.
