2003 Foreman 450 ES stuck in gear

I hit a rough trail over the weekend and now my ATV is totally stuck in gear. The dash shows that dash line instead of a gear number. I put a manual shift shaft on and it shifted a few times, then completely locked up. Just swapped out the angle sensor, no change. I'm hoping someone can give insights where I should check next without the need to tear everything apart. I'd appreciate any advice!

That dash line usually means the ECU isn't detecting a proper gear position, you swapped the angle sensor and still have the issue, it might be something stuck or jammed in the shift mechanism itself, yunno after hitting that rough trail, parts inside could be misaligned or binding

It's crazy how one rough trail can cripple an ATV this badly, modern electronic shifting systems seem way too fragile...sometimes it feels like these machines are built for pavement, not actual off-road use.

Yeah, for off-road riding, you might find that mechanical shifters are tougher than electronic ones. They just deal with the bumps better.

Give the shift motor and linkage a once-over for anything that's stuck or in the way. Plus, take a look at the wires to the angle sensor. If the signal's bad, it can mess up the gear display.
